The Sainsbury's Economy Products Review
This is the ultimate review of all things economical. Before you buy anything, be sure to check the Economy Review, to avoid being conned.
Sainsbury's Economy Washing-up Liquid
Absolutely dire. There's no two ways about it. Under no circumstances should Sainsbury's be allowed to pass this off as washing-up liquid. It merely mixes in to the water, makes no foam, and doesn't even smell nice. Steer well clear of this one.
Sainsbury's Economy Chips
Sainsbury's do well to achieve a decent chip here. Provided the cooking instructions are adhered to, this makes for a crunchy, yet fluffy chip. Well done.
Sainsbury's Economy Toothpaste
If you are prepared to take shortcuts as far as your teeth are concerned, then OK. If, on the other hand, you like your mouth to taste minty, rather than of whatever was cultured in it the night before, then play it safe and go for a well-known brand. Fulfils basic toothpaste criteria in that it is a "paste" which is applied to the "teeth", but nothing more.
Sainsbury's Economy Pasta
Opinions are divided here, some claim that it is the same as Sainsbury's normal pasta, others claim that it has a papery texture. Avoid the confusion by not buying it.
Sainsbury's Economy Toilet Paper
Paper found in toilet. Best leave it there really. Has that "well-recycled" feel to it. Top-tip: unroll the paper, then fold it in half, then in half again, and again, then unfold it, and put it back on the roll, claiming that it's quilted.
Sainsbury's Economy Mince
Cheap and very cheerful. If I was a cow, I would resent having my mince made economically by Sainsbury's. It is very pale as far as red meat goes, and is very rubbery. OK if you cover it in some sort of spicy sauce. If you are vegetarian, save money by pretending that it's Quorn.
Sainsbury's Economy Bread
Very weak bread. OK if you don't try and spread something on it, otherwise your wasting your time. Surely air should be high on the ingredients list. I am well informed that if you freeze the bread, and defrost it in a microwave, it tends to congeal, this apparently results in normal bread, with some sort of texture.
Sainsbury's Economy Ice Cream
Very dilute as far as cream goes. They may wish to rename it "Ice-Milk": buy in bulk, keep frozen, and defrost when required
